This article is not about championing a particular diet, it’s about how the food we eat dictates how we live our day-to-day lives. I could attach research articles to prove this claim, but my lived experiences are evidence enough. I am an aware and sound human being and better yet an awakened spirit. I have all the research I need concerning how my body feels and reacts to what it consumes.
There are many diets out there like a carnivore diet, which has evolved into the main diet in this 21st century, and other herbivore diets like a vegetarian diet, a vegan diet, and my absolute favorite diet, a plant-based diet. I plead my bias for the plant-based diet because it goes beyond our food and comes into everything we use for our bodies, like an organic cotton (plant-based) mattress.
Before I go into this, I want you to first understand this, dear spirit. A diet should not own you, you should own your diet. That is, if you practice a vegetarian diet, and one day you come across an unbelievably desirable piece of fish, and you know in your soul you want to have this fish, in that you are not allergic, you won’t be harming anyone, and you have not made a vow to God to never eat fish, choosing to not eat the fish because you’re a vegetarian is vegetarianism having become your god, and you are its slave. You no longer belong to yourself, or to at best belong to an actual living God, you belong to a mere concept.
Do not sell your soul to a diet because selling your soul to anything or anyone that is not God can in no way be good and healthy for you. My vision for these diets is this: I can practice vegetarianism, veganism, and if I so wish, pescatarianism, all in the same lifetime, not according to a lack of discipline but according to my sheer free will, self-awareness, and self-control. Now, one day, I will have arrived at perfectly practicing a plant-based lifestyle, but I assure you, it will not own me. Even as I make my own lotions, fragrances, make-up, wear just organic cotton and linen, etc. if I ever come across anything outside of my plant-based lifestyle that I truly happily desire to have, and I hurt no one in having it, I will have it. For only God is my God, and it is only He who possesses me and my life. And guess what? As I enjoy that non-plant-based thing, no one will be able to tell me I’m not plant-based anymore, and if they do, I’ll say: “You don’t tell me what I am or am not.” Because these diets and ways of living are a posture, they are not gods and idols. They are ideas and concepts that inform our brains of what we are achieving. They are not our prisons.
Now my reason to be plant-based is as serious and as intentional as the most important thing in my life: It will be no joke because I will from my soul and spirit understand that this plant-based lifestyle attests to who I am as a soul. That, I will no longer allow myself to be slowly poisoned by mega-corporations that choose what’s in supermarkets and what goes in my body, only to one day find myself very sick and dare ask why or how. And worse yet, blame it all on God, as if His Book is not informative and educational more than all the books and textbooks in the world combined.
Let’s Look Back, So We Can Better Look Forward
Let me tell you a true story about your origin, the history of mankind. When the Creator of all things, because nothing can come from nothing, created all things, and everything was perfect and good, He wrote this to and about mankind: “And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you, it shall be for meat.” -Genesis 1:29 KJV.
Firstly I was enlightened and refreshed by the term ‘meat’ meaning food, never animal flesh. Second and important of all, I knew that my body, in absolute pure perfection, is a herbivore and a fruitivore. This knowledge is not about damning eating animal flesh and produce, it is about knowing yourself and better yet, knowing Mighty God, who is Christ Jesus. And let me tell you why this is crucial knowledge to possess and perhaps practice.
In the 10 generations from Adam to Noah, 7 of them lived well over 900 years. One of them lived 895, another 777 years, and the last to account was Enoch who never died but was taken by God. Among these is Noah, who lived 950 years. After the apocalyptic flood with the only humans who survived being Noah and his family, God said this to Noah: “Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.” -Genesis 9:3 KJV.
To reiterate, after the apocalyptic flood, God added animal flesh to mankind’s diet as He told this to Noah, the only man who survived with his family in the whole world. Guess who the last person to ever live over 900 years was? It was Noah! After this animal flesh was added to mankind’s diet, the lifespan of humanity plummeted drastically. So much so that, Abraham was born only about 58 years after Noah died, and yet Abraham lived for 175 years old. Absolutely appalling.
You may ask yourself why God would do this, knowing the repercussions of the new diet. Knowing God, I know that He did this because He was not going to have sinful, evil, diabolical creatures living for millennia. The new animal flesh diet would manifest diseases and illnesses in mankind’s physical body, just as mankind was spiritually defiled by the knowledge of evil. What a Genius.
QUOTE: “And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.” -Genesis 6:3 KJV- [Commentary: this was when God would regret His creation, and when He would soon flood the earth and after that tell Noah of the new (animal flesh) diet.]
Fast forward to the 21st century, and it is not only animal flesh in our diet, but it is chemicals and toxins and pollutants: what a disaster. I have seen my mood ruined after eating a bag of corn chips. I have seen chest pains stop because I stopped drinking sugary cold soda drinks. I know that if I use my perfume I will within that minute have a headache. I have felt a tangible anxiousness living in my chest area from taking multivitamins. Listen to your body, it’s talking to you. And best believe it’s not saying, “Go get a painkiller.” It is saying, “Something is causing us pain. What did you consume?”
As a human with a body made of systems, those systems work together as one. Nothing that goes in your body can have zero effect on your body. Though God walked with Jacob (Issac’s son), in the last days of Jacob’s life, his eyes were so dim that he couldn’t see that he was blessing the wrong son right in front of him, and he died at 147 years old, as opposed to the +900 years old. And I find it funny that at the time God was telling us of this story, of Esau losing his inheritance to his brother because it is the brother who was blessed, that a blind Jacob was awaiting his favorite meaty (animal flesh) meal from the son he would bless.
So understand me when I say because of Christ, I am back in the Garden of Eden as cleansed and pure and made to be the righteousness of God, and I fully intend on living life like I’m back in the Garden. My diet will profess to be in the Garden, without sinning or becoming unholy if I ever choose to eat animal flesh for it is all given to me, and so will my heart and mind profess being cleansed in that I will not judge those who eat animal flesh or who aren’t living as I live. All is given. I’m only here to enlighten you.
