Sometimes the kindest thing to do is to walk off…
Sometimes, the kindest thing to do is ask them if they would like a hug…
Sometimes the kindest thing to do is ask them how their day is going or how their life is going or if you can buy them a coffee…
Sometimes the kindest thing to do is the very thing you don’t want to do…
Sometimes the kindest thing to do is to get angry with them and yell at them to wake them up…
Sometimes, the kindest thing to do is stop yourself from judging them for just being who they are…
Sometimes, the kindest thing to do is tell them the truth…
Sometimes, the kindest thing to do is wait for them while you’re walking together if they’re slower than you…
Sometimes, the kindest thing to do is shower someone with presents…
Sometimes, the kindest thing to do is tell them a joke or a funny story that makes them laugh and forget about their day…
Sometimes, the kindest thing you could ever do is take care of you…
Sometimes. the kindest thing you could ever do is just offer up a simple smile.
Sometimes, the kindest thing to do is shut up and not offer up another “wonderful solution” (again)…
Sometimes, the kindest thing to do is to stand your ground, not give in and do what you need to do for YOU.
There are millions of possibilities for what the kindest thing to do might be in a certain situation but one of the ways I’ve found in my life to get this right and know exactly what to “do” almost always comes from slowing down (even if its only for a split second) and “listening”…truly listening and allowing the kindness, the love, or the gratitude to show up and win the moment or the day.
Being kindness over fear or doubt or judgement always wins on the only scorecard that matters.
