In November of 2022, I thought I was getting dressed up that morning for Christmas card photos with my family. We went to my favorite spot, Bulls Island, outside of Charleston, South Carolina. This is a place where I always took Tyler when he visited me during summer breaks in college. After being on the island and taking “Christmas card photos”, Tyler suddenly got down on one knee and proposed in an area on the island called “The Boneyard.” Which is a beautiful, untouched driftwood forest right on the ocean. It was the most beautiful and sentimental place to get proposed to. Tears of joy streamed down my face as I said yes, and having my family there meant the world to me!

Miranda and Tyler thoughtfully curated a selection of stations that perfectly catered to every guest’s taste, ensuring a dining experience that was both diverse and unforgettable! The Hibachi Station brought a touch of theater to the reception with stir-fried shrimp, beef, and chicken, all tossed in a sweet soy sauce. Accompanied by a colorful vegetable stir-fry and jasmine rice, this station offered an interactive and flavorful dining experience. At the Carving Station, perfectly grilled beef tenderloin was served with rich bordelaise sauce, horseradish cream, and silver dollar rolls. Roasted asparagus added a bright, fresh note to the hearty offering. Guests loved customizing their dishes at the Risotto Station, mixing ingredients like shaved Parmesan, roasted tomatoes, sautéed shrimp, and crispy pancetta. Each bowl was a personalized creation of flavors and textures. The elegant Raw Bar featured an ice sculpture centerpiece and was stocked with jumbo shrimp, oysters, and crab claws. Guests enjoyed these fresh, chilled offerings with a selection of spicy cocktail sauces, mignonette, and lemon wedges. For a comforting Southern touch, the Southern Comfort Station served crispy buttermilk fried chicken with cheddar and black pepper biscuits. Rich macaroni and cheese and sautéed collard greens with crispy bacon completed the station, adding a warm, hearty feel to the event.

For the outdoor ceremony, the floral arch is a stunning, asymmetrical design that mimics the natural movement of branches swaying in the wind. It creates a semi-circle of florals, drawing the eye toward the couple’s altar space! The arch features abundant roses, greenery, and other wildflowers in shades of peach, cream, pink, and lavender, blending beautifully with the ocean backdrop. The aisle is framed with more of these lush florals, creating an immersive garden effect as guests approach their seats. Inside the venue, the pillars are adorned with cascading floral installations that feature a mix of peach, pink, yellow, and white roses, along with greenery. These florals spill over the sides, creating a vertical garden effect that softens the structural elements of the room! The use of draping in shades of coral, blush, and pink adds a dreamy, romantic touch while tying in with the florals’ warm color palette. The floral arrangements on the tables are more delicate but still colorful, composed of similar flower varieties in small vases, complementing the elegant linens and the overall pastel theme! Miranda’s signature drink was a Lemon Drop Martini, and Tyler’s drink was a Mint Julep. At the end of the night, they had passed espresso martinis to the guests!
