Today’s real wedding was a masterclass in contemporary chic at Lough Erne Resort in Enniskillen. Ellen and Adam celebrated their love their way with a sleek and modern celebration at the five-star Northern Irish wedding venue which is nestled on a beautiful 600-acre estate by the shore of the glittering lough.
With a breathtaking bridal look (including an enchanting pearl Evie Young wedding dress), autumnal blooms aplenty, pops of teal, minimalistic signage, and bridesmaids in sumptuous velvet jumpsuits – the style was absolute magic. Their autumn fete was planned and styled entirely by the bride and it included gorgeous personal touches from their family, such as the reception table decor courtesy of her grandfather. Get ready to pore over all the details with beautiful images from Iain Irwin below.

Ellen and Adam are from Mid Ulster in Northern Ireland and they live in Coagh, Co. Tyrone, today. Ellen and Adam’s love story began in school. “Adam joined Cookstown High School in third year on return from England where he had lived. From third year, we both came up through school together but never crossed each other’s paths during those years in school. We attended many events outside of school within a large friend group. It was only in our sixth form years of school when feelings started to grow between us both.”

Ellen reflects on Adam’s uber-romantic proposal, “It was a Saturday night after I had finished three long shifts in work as a nurse. We decided that Saturday night we would go for a drive somewhere. We ended up at the top of Slieve Gallion – a mountain not far from where we both lived. There we had some food, dessert and enjoyed each other’s company whilst out sitting watching the sun set. As we were about to leave Adam got down on one knee and popped the question.”

When it came to their dream celebration, they wanted to make sure everyone enjoyed their day however “we also wanted to make sure our day was everything we had wanted.”

Dahlias, tea roses, lunaria, foliage such as eucalyptus, and fluffy ferns were incorporated in their floral displays by Beechfield Flowers.

Ellen’s superb bouquet also included gentle whispers of something blue thanks to the addition of larkspur.

150 of their loved ones joined them to celebrate their happiest day and Ellen and Adam exchanged vows in her home church, Orritor Presbyterian Church. They reflect, “We involved family and friends within the wedding preparation, church service and speeches therefore it was very personal to us both.”

The couple adored the music they incorporated into their ceremony. “Each piece we picked meant something to us as a couple. The aisle song we both loved because it was a well known radio song, Until I Found You, but played at a slower pace on the piano and strings and it was beautiful.”

How stunning was their love story signage? Their table names drew inspiration from places they had visited throughout their relationship. They put their own spin on the reception seating by having no top table, rather their table was placed in the centre of the floor so they were surrounded by their loved ones.

The wedding party celebrated under the sparkling chandeliers in the ballroom with the tablescape styling including minimalistic signage, velvet table runners, and white candles in glass holders. The fabulous table décor was made by Ellen’s grandfather.

Ellen’s phenomenal pearl-encrusted wedding dress is by Evie Young which she accessorised with Prada heels and pearl hoop earrings by Deborah K Design.

The couple always knew that if they tied the knot they would celebrate at Lough Erne Resort. “We loved the setting of the venue as it overlooks the lough.”

The wedding party served up black tie brilliance with Ellen’s bridesmaids stunning in sumptuous navy velvet jumpsuits from Yumi with colourful floral combs and Adam and his groomsmen looking dapper as could be in classic black tuxes from Robert Paynters Menswear.

The bride fills us in more on the vibe they wanted for their celebration, “We didn’t want a traditional wedding but we wanted it to have a current, modern look but still be classy and timeless. Social media helped us with a lot of our ideas as we wanted a few twists within our wedding that our guests would never have had seen before. We loved how our wedding was and we are so glad we incorporated a few different elements into our day.”

They put a footie spin on their reception entrance. “Adam loves football therefore our reception entrance song of course had to have football background to it.”

Ariella, their niece, “stole the show” as their flower girl. “She got her own jumpsuit made from a spare jumpsuit we bought especially for her.”

Ellen and Adam wowed their guests with their first dance to Feeling Good by Michael Bublé which they choreographed with a little help from TikTok. For their wedding favours they opted for his and her sweets which went down such a treat with their guests.

Ellen’s pearl-dappled blazer is all kinds of gorgeous. As for wedding planning advice they say, “It is your wedding day therefore you plan what you both want. We always try to organise our wedding to please others however it is your day and you never want to look back and think I wish I had done that.”

Adam organised the honeymoon from start to finish and he had a wonderful adventure planned for his wife, “We went on our honeymoon two days after our wedding. We flew to Dubai and Abu Dhabi for two weeks. It was an amazing holiday and experience. We cannot wait to return to adventure more of the UAE.”
