Simple classic elegance, today’s real wedding is an absolute dream. Adrienne and Patrick tied the knot on a sun-soaked autumn day at Castle Durrow in Co. Laois. Their celebration was all about sleek style with a subtle and oh-so sweet equine spin. Get ready for jaw-dropping Aussie bridal style (including the most breathtaking bridal boater hat), calla lily bouquets, a refined white and green palette with pretty pops of pale yellow, and a fabulous pressed wildflower cake. All of the beauty and joy was captured by Claire Byrne Photography, you’re going to fall in love with their beautiful day. Let’s jump in!

Adrienne and Patrick’s love story began when they met at a mutual friend’s wedding in Donegal on July 17th, 2018. In 2022, Patrick popped the question on the very same day beside the Opera House in Sydney.

From the light yellow bridesmaids dresses to Adrienne’s wedding dress with a breathtaking bow, we can’t wait for you to see the rest of the sensational style.

As for the hunt for their dream wedding venue, “We really wanted a castle or country home type of venue were we could have both the ceremony and reception in and enough room for the majority of guests to be accommodated. Our parents had to visit the venue on our behalf as we were in Sydney and once they gave us the thumbs up we went with it.”

Bubbles and besties – name a better combo on your wedding morning!

We cannot get enough of the bride’s phenomenally chic style! She wore a sleek gown by Australian designer Rebecca Vallance with a statement bow, wedding heels by Rainbow Club and a beautiful boater hat with a pearl strap by Aussie luxury bridal designer Christie Bridal.

Dashing groom Patrick wanted a timeless wedding day look and his sleek tux with a luxurious velvet blazer ticked all the boxes.

Adrienne’s top wedding planning tip? To do a first look, and it doesn’t get sweeter than theirs. “It was so special and emotional just the two of us. And the sense of calmness it brought us both. It took all the nerves that come with walking down the aisle away. Highly recommend to any couple, and you can get loads of photos done and enjoy your reception drinks.”

She also recommends to hire Claire Byrne, who is award-winning photographer with a fun and relaxed approach to capture those natural and authentic moments.

The bride choose pale yellow for her bridesmaids as it is her favourite colour and her engagement ring has a yellow diamond. The uber-chic square neck gowns are from ASOS!

The couple tied the knot in sumptuous surrounds indoors where the floral arrangements which married romantic white blooms with lush foliage made for a spellbinding setting to exchange vows.

Adrienne fills us in on curating her bridal look of dreams. “With the bow on the back, I thought a veil would cover it up too much and not work hence the I came up with the hat concept. Paddy and I go horse racing a lot, so I would often wear head pieces and really enjoy the fashion at the races.”

The flower girls were cute as a button in their puff sleeve midi dresses from Next and they carried bouquets with lilies, roses and pops of yellow which complemented the bridal party.

The bride and her bridesmaids carried calla lily bouquets, which is a wedding flower trend that is really on the rise. With a sleek, modern, and clean and design and characteristic trumpet shape – they mix well with other flowers or can easily stand alone. Not only are these minimal one flower bouquets totally gorgeous, but they’re generally more affordable, easier to manage on the day, and they allow your dress to take centre stage.

Their absolute favourite photo from their wedding is the one of them leaning back and laughing after their kiss at the ceremony. “I told Paddy to go to the wrong side because of the hat and we messed it up even though we had practised.”

The 17th-century eclectic manor house exudes chic character at every turn and sitting on an estate with 50 acres of glorious gardens and lush parkland, it was a jaw-droppingly beautiful backdrop for their celebration.

It was their loved ones who made their celebration as joyous and unforgettable as could be. “Having so many people travel to be there from all over Ireland and the world with us and the genuine happiness in the room. It’s not something you can plan or curate we’re just lucky to have awesome people in our lives that were the best guests.”

The horse racing lovers named their reception tables after courses and horses.

With a natural, documentary-style approach, Nadine Hyland of Forget Me Not Weddings created their timeless wedding film that they will cherish forever.

Their stunning autumn wedding included a sleek wedding cake adorned with pressed wildflowers and a first dance to Dancing in the Moonlight.

Adrienne and Patrick made a honeymoon pit-stop on the way home to Sydney as they went to the Maldives for five nights.
