Deep purple, mauve, and blush tones gave the palette a rich fall feel. Emerald complemented the plum tones, while teal and blueberry added texture and complexity.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The overall design by Verve Event Co. was inspired by an elegant fall garden party full of the rich jewel tones of the season. Anna loves gardening and Jake spent time in Ireland, and they both grew up on the water, so all these locations played a role in the design. In addition, the boat from their engagement, their dog, and the lace flowers from Anna’s wedding gown were all incorporated into their design.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]
While on vacation on Nantucket, Jake planned a sunset sail for the two of them aboard the Endeavor, a 31-foot sailboat hand-built by the captain. As the sun was setting, and accompanied by Anna’s dog Lilly, Jake asked her to marry him.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Anna wore a custom lace gown by Gee June Bridal. The bridal jacket and sleeves were hand-sewn right before she walked down the aisle. After the cocktail hour, the dressmaker removed the overskirt, revealing a chic column dress for the reception. As Anna was the first bride to choose this dress, this is now the Anna gown. [/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]
We worked with My Wedding Wardrobe to curate each bridesmaid’s look. Anna let her twin sister, Casey have the first pick of the gowns before she helped the other girls choose their colors and styles. The girls chose dresses in navy, midnight, and deep plum.

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Groomsmen wore blue suits from the Suit Shop and custom ties by Loria Letters in mauve and navy. The ties featured a hand-drawn floral pattern inspired by the lace on Anna’s dress.[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]
During cocktail hour at The Lake House on Canandaigua, guests sipped on a trio of Blackberry Brambles, one with whiskey, one with vodka, and a spirit-free version. Hors d’ouevres included roasted beet tartare, goat cheese strudel, short rib sliders, and crab cakes, along with artisan cheese, charcuterie, house-made seasonal pickles, artisan bread, boquerons, and marinated olives. For dinner, guests enjoyed salad, fire-roasted carrots for a second course, and a choice of roasted Atlantic cod, grilled beef tenderloin, or cauliflower steak. For late-night food, guests noshed on grilled pizza and gourmet s’mores hand-torched by the chef.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]
The gardenesque floral designs by Flowerwell incorporated deep eggplant, mauve, and cream. Chocolate cosmos, ranunculus, hydrangea, and dahlias were all featured in the ceremony arch, chandeliers, centerpieces, and bouquets. Stationery by Loria Letters featured die-cut elements, calligraphy, a custom toile pattern inspired by their engagement, the Finger Lakes region of New York, their fur babies, and other elements of their story. The tables featured dual looks rented from Petunia Rose Luxe Event Rentals – plum and mauve velvet on the round tablecloths and teal and navy velvet on the rectangles, with gold accented china and stemware. For table numbers and signage, we used acrylic engraved with a custom floral pattern inspired by her dress lace. The rich colors on the tables, coupled with the flowers and other decorative elements, made the room stunning.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]
Surrounded by a floral meadow that encircled the show-stopping five-tier design, Anna and Jake’s wedding cake by The Cake Shop CNY featured bas-relief elements on two tiers, a hand-painted floral tier, and a solid mauve tier. Three tiers featured Lemon olive oil cake with vanilla bean buttercream and alternating layers of lemon curd and raspberry jam. Two tiers featured almond cake with apple butter, honey buttercream, and almond praline for a seasonal touch.

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Ceremony music was performed by a string and piano duo provided by the Shine band. The wedding party walked out to “To Make You Feel My Love” by Bob Dylan, a favorite artist of the bride’s father. The bride’s entrance song was “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles. The mothers of both the bride and groom read passages at the ceremony, including “The Art Of A Good Marriage” by Wilferd Arlan Peterson and a passage from the book of Corinthians in the Bible.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]
On the day before the wedding, the couple held an intimate rehearsal dinner also at the Lake House on Canandaigua with their wedding party and parents and a welcome reception for all their guests. Both events featured a relaxed coastal design with a family style meal inspired by a Nantucket clambake. Guests enjoyed grilled corn salad, artisan sausage, mini lobster rolls, country bacon skewers, short rib sliders, and gougers.

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]The favors were displayed on a large wall from Revival Rental and decorated with their custom toile pattern. Oval acrylic ornaments engraved with the sailboat from their engagement functioned as both escort cards and favors. Greenery and flowers from the ceremony aisle were later added to complete the look.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]
Their event signage featured many details to create a cohesive look from the save-the-date through to the wedding. Their menus were personalized to each guest with a vellum overlay that listed each guest’s name. Underneath, the die-cut menu was personalized to each guest’s entree selection. The plum oval acrylic table numbers featured the same floral pattern as the groomsmen’s ties and were inspired by the lace on the bride’s dress. Their bar signage featured drawings of their dogs on a pearlized acrylic that mimicked their fur.
