As one of the go-to spots for a fine-dining meal in Dublin, two Michelin-starred Chapter One is ideal for when you really want to treat your guests. 16. Lena
A secluded spot overlooking the canal, your “neighbourhood Italian restaurant” Lena now lives at the home of the previous Locks restaurant. With a menu designed by powerhouse team Simon Barrett and Liz Matthews (Uno Mas and Etto) alongside Locks’ Chef and co-owner Paul McNamara, it’s fast becoming a firm favourite among Dublin foodies, thanks to its aesthetically-pleasing and hearty take on contemporary cuisine, and its cosy, welcoming atmosphere. The glass-panelled snug in the back of this Dublin hotspot is a hidden gem, and has a few influential fans (Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, to name but two!) Housed in a historic Victorian restaurant, the homey eatery specialises in stylish, contemporary interpretations of classic Irish fare. The Michelin star OX restaurant in Belfast hosts weddings in the private OX Cave, a wine bar and seating area perfect for an intimate celebration.
